Studio notes
Making a little space
A gentler way to plan time for yourself.
Start with something manageable
A routine can begin with a small, realistic commitment. Look at the time a session takes alongside getting there, returning and the other things already in your day. One workable visit can be easier to plan than an ideal week. Start with a time you can approach without rushing, and leave a little space around it to arrive and return at a comfortable pace.
Make the details clear
Straightforward information about class pace, access and how to ask questions makes planning easier. Keep the class name, intended date and studio’s local time in one place. Read the preparation notes and ask about anything unfamiliar before the visit. You might find it useful to set out what you need the evening before, or to check the journey when you are choosing between two times.
After a visit, notice what fitted well: the time of day, the format or the way the class was introduced. Keep those details in mind when planning another week. A routine can grow from practical choices that suit your days, rather than from a plan that needs to stay exactly the same.
